Challenges
The first few years was tough, backtesting techniques and trying out unconventional methods of obtaining alpha from numerous live data feeds. We were getting somewhere with 130% time-weighted returns YOY but these methods requied heavy manual work and almost 24/7 analyzing markets and data.
There was a huge bottleneck, time. The moment we took a break to work on our AI operations and stopped manually analyzing, keeping up with the markets, our returns tanked.
